The Alliance of Literary Societies - celebrating 40+ years

President:  Claire Harman

The ALS is the umbrella organisation for literary societies/groups in the UK. We were formed in 1973 and currently have around 125 members.

We provide support and advice on a variety of literary subjects, as well as promoting cooperation between member societies.

Are you a literary society/group interested in becoming a member? Click on the Joining Us tab at the top of this screen to find out more.

Are you an individual looking for a literary society/group to join? Then click on the tab at the top of this screen Our Member Societies.

We also have a page on Facebook.

The ALS Literary Weekend 2017 will take place at Napier University, Edinburgh, from 2 to 4 June

This is being organised and hosted by the Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen Societies.  A weekend of talks, tours and conversation about books and writers.  To access the programme and booking form, and also to view details of previous ALS weekends, click here.
